Position: Software Support Engineer (Indian subcontinent)
Location: Chennai, India
Reports to: Direct reporting relationship to Regional Software Engineering Manager
Start Date: Immediate
Primary responsibilities:
- Work in customer NOC in Chennai, India
- Software configuration, administration and troubleshooting, including:

- Operating and maintaining RAMP, Xiocom's Web-based network management system.
- Administering MySQL databases.
- General Linux administration.
- Collecting and analyzing customer information.
- Deploying and maintaining third-party network monitoring applications (Zabbix, cacti etc.)
- Interacting with and supporting the customer's deployment/activation team.
- Visiting sites to collect data.
- Supporting customer communication and correspondence.
- Customer and SI partner training

- Representing Xiocom at all levels of presentations.
- Building and enhancing customer relationships and loyalty.
- Supporting distributor, solution and technology partners.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in most or all of the following areas:
- Wireless, Wi-Fi, WiMAX.
- IP or RF network design and/or deployment experience, preferably at ISP or Telco level.
- VoIP/VoWi-Fi solutions.
- Software or system support.
- Computer network support or troubleshooting.
- Technical training or group facilitation.
- The ability to create logical network and site diagrams (Visio or similar.)
- The ability to create technical documentation for internal use as well as for customers.
- Prior experience in a multinational equipment vendor, software vendor, service provider or ISP is beneficial and multilingual support is also useful although not mandatory.
- University or tertiary degree in related field
- Minimum of five years experience in wireless/networking/telecommunications/engineering fields
- Must be fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking)
Travel/ Physical:
- Up to 20% travel possible. Some travel may be required to Bangalore office or overseas for training.
- Will be required to work in an indoor and sometimes outdoor environment
